Job Description

Reporting to the Senior PDM, R&D based in Dongguan, the job holder will focus on creating the 2D and 3D engineering design/ drawings of plastic/ metal of actual products using AutoCAD software and Pro-E CAD software according to product requirements/specification.

Key Responsibilities

• Attend KO meeting with PDE and PDM / PM to highlight input/concerns related to Engineering scope.
• Provide comments to designer in engineering design point of view for the received artwork.
• According to the artwork provided by industrial designer or PM, generate structural and functional 3D engineering model of product.
•  Collect comments from industrial designer, PDM and PDE for further modification of 3D model.
•  Deliver 3D engineering model comments report before moving to the next phase.
• Contact supplier for prototype build quotation once formal request from PDM & PM received.
• Provide 3D CAD file to prototype supplier to start making mock-up samples over there.
• When prototype sample is received, Analyse it in terms of dimensional accuracy, functions and study the feasibility of manufacturing. Then deliver comments to PDE and PDM.
•  Finalize 3D engineering model before starting the fabrication of MP tool.
• During the MP tooling fabrication period, generate 2D drawing with dimensions for PE and QE.
• During the production planning phase, update 2D and 3D drawings for any approved design change.

Job Requirements

• College degree or above.
• Mechanical engineering, skilled in CAD design software.
• Plastic/ metal material selection knowledge and tooling experience is definitely an advantage.
•  Previous experience from Toy Industry or Consumer electronics industry an advantage.
•  Previous experience with soft goods or combination of soft goods with hard goods also an advantage.
•  Familiar with using CAD software: AutoCAD with Pro-E or Solidworks is a must.
•  Sound knowledge of various relative manufacturing process, e.g. injection molding, die-casting, etc.
•  Good in both Chinese and English writing.
•  Good communicator and able to speak to colleagues and suppliers in Mandarin.
•  Familiar with using MS office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
