Recently, two of our colleagues, Lisa and Mark, embarked on assignments that took them to different corners of the OSM network. While they worked in separate locations, their missions were united by one objective: to strengthen our operations, align our processes, and deliver greater value to both OSM Group and our customers.

One Goal, Two Journeys

Lisa Li, our Production Manager based in China, stepped into a critical stage of the Specialised Sports Gear and Neck Pillow production ramp-up at the OSM Philippines facility, where she spent about one month and two weeks on-site. Her role was hands-on: optimizing material flows, guiding operators through a steep learning curve, and ensuring shipment deadlines were met without compromising quality. “The ramp-up stage brought us together — it truly felt like a united OSM team,” she says. Her presence on the ground fostered collaboration between production operators, engineering, and quality teams, turning operational pressure into a moment of unity and achievement.

Meanwhile, Mark Manoza, an Industrial Engineer based in the Philippines, spent around one and a half months traveling through our Dongguan and Hui Zhou facilities in China. His mission: align IE (Industrial Engineering) processes across all OSM facilities and create a unified IE Masterfile to optimize efficiency. Through time studies, UPPH (Units Per Person per Hour) analysis, and learning from their CBD and ERP systems, Mark worked closely with IE and Project Management teams to standardize best practices. “Even with language barriers, we found solutions by using translation tools and a genuine eagerness to learn from different approaches.”

Learning, Adapting, and Sharing Knowledge

What made both journeys special was not just the transfer of skills, but the two-way learning. Lisa came to appreciate the deep sense of camaraderie that drives productivity at the Philippines facility, while Mark was inspired by the speed, responsiveness, and precision of operations in our China facilities.

When they returned, both brought back more than just technical knowledge. Lisa carried new methods for motivating teams under pressure and reinforcing quality at scale. Mark brought insights on data visualization, layout optimization, and agile workflow practices that could benefit every OSM facility. Together, their experiences are helping shape more connected, efficient, and aligned operations across our global network.

Their assignments weren’t only about work. Lisa enjoyed the warmth of Filipino culture and even found time to unwind at the serene San Juan beach. Mark explored China cities, appreciating healthy local cuisine and well-organized urban spaces. These cultural exchanges deepened their belief that respect, openness, and personal connection are just as important as technical skills in bringing teams together.

Although Lisa and Mark’s paths were different, their stories merge into a single truth: OSM’s strength lies in its people’s ability to bridge distances, share expertise, and work as one. From ramping up complex production lines to unifying technical processes, their contributions ripple across our entire organization, improving how we serve you – our customers, and how we grow as a global team.
